Recently, the results of the 2023 Math Kangaroo competition organised by ASDAN China were officially announced. Huili School Nantong pupils won a total of 15 awards, including one gold award, two silver awards, four bronze awards and eight proficiency awards, a remarkable achievement!

Congratulations again to these award-winning pupils, and thank you to every participant for their efforts, allowing us the privilege of sharing this honour together.
Math Kangaroo is proposed by Peter O’Halloran, an Australian mathematician and teacher, in the 1980's. In 1991, this idea was taken up in Paris, France. Very quickly, it spread throughout Europe. The competition began to be called “Kangaroo” because of its Australian origin.
The main purpose of Math Kangaroo is to promote mathematical thinking and stimulate an interest in maths, by providing pupils with an opportunity to compare their abilities against the abilities of other pupils, from different countries around the world. Math Kangaroo is now the largest competition for school pupils in the world, with over 6.3 million participants from 97 countries.
Looking back at the competition purpose of the Math Kangaroo, it is found to be in line with the teaching objectives of the mathematics department at Huili Nantong. In mathematics classes, teachers take the stimulation of pupils' curiosity as the starting point. They organize and design their classrooms with a focus on improving core mathematical literacy, helping pupils better develop their thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities in the process of learning mathematics.
We encourage and support pupils to participate in high-quality competitions such as the Math Kangaroo and we hope that through the training provided by the competition, they can maintain a positive attitude of challenging and surpassing themselves, constantly broaden their horizons, develop their potential, and stand more confidently on the world stage.
