Marta Perez was born and raised in sunny Barcelona, Spain. She graduated from the University of Barcelona with a bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science. Soon afterwards, she pursued her Masters in Library Science with a Digital Information and Communication endorsement from the Pompeu Fabra University, in Spain. After being a research analyst in a consultant company for four years, she moved abroad where she found her dream job: school librarianship. She then received her Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Nottingham University, in the UK.
She has taught internationally for eight years in schools in Costa Rica, Dubai (UAE), and China, as a teacher-librarian. She believes that the library is the learning hub within the school where all the pupils and teachers stay abreast of the constantly changing information world. She is passionate about encouraging the use of new technologies in the classroom while fostering a culture of reading, literacy, and research.
In her free time, she can be found enjoying a book, singing in a choir, colouring mandalas, and learning a new language (currently attempting to improve her Mandarin skills!).
