In recent years, "overwork" and "anxiety" have more frequently entered the public's view. As small cells in society our lives, work, study, and interpersonal relationships are constantly facing the challenges of these negative emotions. For individuals, in addition to clear self-awareness and self-awareness, experiencing a sense of happiness is the positive step to combat internal anxiety.

Therefore, in the second session of the Positive Parenting Workshop this semester, Ms. Sara, the school counsellor, added a "Family Structure and Happiness" module based on the content of the first session. This module explored what happiness is, the happiness model studied by psychologists, how to feel happiness in daily life, and how to bring this happiness back home to help children and family members experience true happiness.

Many parents felt greatly benefited after the course. One parent shared: "To obtain happiness, we need to start by changing our perception of things, learn to take responsibility for our emotions, and have more empathy for others, especially our children." Regarding empathy, another parent shared: "Empathy is really important. A loving environment can really bring a sense of security to children. While feeling love, we should also learn to give love, reflect more, communicate more, and consider problems from the perspective of our children”.

Ms. Sara shared that a child's happiness does not solely come from how many material things parents provide for them. A child's happiness comes from how much happiness parents themselves can perceive. As parents, we need to have the ability to perceive happiness, which is not necessarily innate, but can be developed over time. When a person can perceive happiness, they will develop a sense of gratitude towards themselves, others, and the world and pass on this to their children.

The next scheduled time for the Positive Parenting Workshop is from April to June 2024. We will add more experiential exercises and interpersonal communication practices to help parents better regulate their emotions and gain a deeper understanding of their psychological patterns, so that they can better participate in shaping their children's healthy personality.
