As pupils are preparing to go on their Chinese New Year break, we are delighted to bring further news of excellent offers for Wellington College China schools in the early rounds of university applications. Wellingtonians continue to achieve success in every possible field with outstanding offers from some of the most prestigious universities around the world. So far, our pupils have received offers from several top-10 ranked institutions (QS World Rankings 2024) including the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford and University College London.
The offers from the institutions above each represent a unique achievement. The offers to study natural sciences and mathematics at Cambridge come with some of the highest entry requirements of any course in the world. Our pupil’s offer to study law at Oxford was made possible not only by the pupil’s academic preparation but also the strength of a school’s offerings in different fields.
And while UCL as an institution is ranked #9, its Bartlett School, where a pupil has received an offer to study architecture, is ranked #1 worldwide for that subject.
Beyond these impressive offers our pupils have been accepted to other highly competitive courses around the world, including medicine, engineering, biomedical science, economics and mathematics. Successful offers have also been received from some of the world's top art schools and colleges – and not just for typical fine arts degrees but for programmes like strategic design and management (the choice of one of our two pupils admitted to Parsons this year).
As well as having outstanding teachers, each school has a dedicated university guidance team which provides the vital service of helping each pupil research and prepare their applications over several years. This preparation includes support for writing essays and personal statements, preparation for tests such as the SAT and Oxbridge admissions exams as well as mock interviews from subject experts.
With many decisions still to come from the regular round of applications in the US and UK as well as from destinations including Europe, Canada, Singapore and Australia, it is already set to be an incredibly successful year. Stay tuned for further updates!
