During the two-day event, pupil took part in four intense competitions, including Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar's challenge, and Scholar's Bowl. Yannis from Grade 6, stood out among more than 200 pupils due to his outstanding personal performance and participated as an excellent debater in the final debate showcase. Similarly, Sophia, also from Grade 6, closed the curtain on the final scholar's cup talent show, showcasing her singing talents. Our school pupils demonstrated solid knowledge reserves, outstanding thinking abilities, and fluent English expression abilities, winning unanimous praise from the judges.

I am honored to be able to join the final debate showcase as the best debater. This is a recognition and affirmation of me personally. The most impressive part for me is the debate segment. Firstly, our opponents were very strong, and secondly, as the affirmative side, our disadvantages were quite apparent. However, we ultimately succeeded by collaborating and supporting each other through the division of labor between the first, second, and third speakers. At the same time, I also realized that an open and inclusive attitude is more conducive to team cohesion in teamwork.

Attending the World Scholar's Cup was a very precious experience for me and left a deep impression on me. I am glad to have received so many awards. While participating in the competition, I was also very nervous, but the mutual cooperation and support among team members helped me overcome this issue successfully. My writing and debating skills have also made great progress through the training of this competition, and the knowledge and skills I learned in the CCA course laid a solid foundation for my excellent performance in this competition.

This is our first time participating in the World Scholar's Cup, and both the pupils and I have benefited greatly from it. We have been preparing for the World Scholar's Cup festival for almost a semester. In the CCA course of the World Scholar's Cup, we lead pupils to explore knowledge in various fields and organize simulated debate competitions. The question types of the World Scholar's Cup often catch people off guard, covering a wide range of topics, and the question formats are also diverse. Participants need to analyze and judge the materials based on their knowledge, and have a global planning awareness to deal with situations where their opinions differ from those of their teammates. This is a good opportunity for pupils to be fully trained, and we hope that more excellent pupils will join in the future.

WSC encourages pupils to think outside of the parameters of the usual school curriculum and this year’s Theme, Reimagining the Present, required pupils to challenge their understanding of the world we live in and consider the changes we currently face. It's not all serious, though! WSC has its own unique and somewhat eccentric traditions which inspire collaboration, inclusivity, and fun. Well done to all our pupils and we look forward to seeing how you get on at the Global Round later in the year.
