Computer Science is everywhere.

Last month, we introduced our ICT curriculum to you in conjunction with the hot topic "ChatGPT" and invited Mr Li Shi, our popular IT teacher in the school, to be our guest on "Huili Talks", where he led the audience "inside" the ICT classroom, combined with lively pupil work, and led them on a tour of this technology and futuristic curriculum.

At the school assembly on Thursday, Mr Shi prepared a talk on "Computer Science is everywhere". Let’s have a look...

How to express letters using binary? How do you write your name in binary only? Under Mr Shi's guidance, each of the pupils made their own unique binary name bracelet.

 

 

 

Cut out paper diagrams of the various components of a computer, the operating system, software programs .... Then they assembled themselves to create a unique "computer". Through such simple and interesting combinations, the pupils quickly became familiar with the hardware and software components of a computer.

In addition to the above events, Mr Shi also prepared various fun programming games to suit the different learning levels of the pupils: Rodocodo, Codespark, The Big Duck Race, Codesters Basketball and Codecombat. Through these activities, pupils familiarized themselves with the basics of coding, such as sequencing, debugging, loop assistance, etc. They improved their ability to identify and solve problems and applied their acquired computer knowledge to practical problem solving, completing the transformation of knowledge from "input" to "output".

At Huili School Nantong, teachers motivate pupils to learn and stimulate their desire to explore knowledge through a wide variety of enriching activities. Teaching is fun and learning is fun, so that the pupil is truly helped to bring out his strengths and possibilities and to enjoy the pleasure of success in his mental work.
