Yesterday, we were very pleased to be hosting the 3rd Wellington College China Chinese Teaching and Learning Conference, which was also the first offline conference as well. Nearly 60 Chinese teachers attended the conference in Nantong, and many more attended the online synchronous sessions via Teams. Ms Joy Qiao (Founder and Chairman of Wellington College China), Mr Julian Jeffrey (Chief Executive Master), Mr Simon Kenworthy (Master of Hiba Academy Nantong), and Ms Suisui Yu (Principal of Hiba Academy Nantong) delivered speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies.
The purpose of this conference is to promote in-depth communication and cooperation among Chinese subject leaders and teachers from various school districts, and to better consolidate and share the achievements of each school in the development and implementation of the Chinese language curriculum. The conference themes cover the current status and prospects of Chinese subject development at Wellington College China, criteria for a good lesson in the context of core competence, Chinese graded reading, etc. All teachers explore together with an open and creative attitude and communicate and exchange ideas on curriculum design and teaching methods.
Education is an endless exploration, and the classroom is not a monologue of the teacher, but a symphony of the teaching team. The successful holding of the Chinese Teaching and Learning Conference is conducive to promoting communication and cooperation amongst teachers, understanding the latest educational concepts and teaching technologies, broadening teaching ideas, and improving teaching effectiveness. We look forward to more teaching exchanges in the future, to jointly build a high-standard and high-quality teaching environment.
