How do Huili teachers integrate the curriculum into pupils' daily lives?

08 Apr 2024

As highlighted by Vincent Chang, at Huili School Nantong, integrating knowledge from different subjects is a vital teaching methodology. By closely interlacing disciplines such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, and even the arts in our pedagogical design, our educators enable pupils to better understand and apply this knowledge comprehensively. In a project, pupils may need to utilize knowledge from five to six subjects to explore and analyse, and this interdisciplinary approach aids in helping pupils grasp the connections and interactions between various disciplines.

Moreover, this educational method of intertwining knowledge can ignite pupils' interests and curiosity, maintaining a positive attitude towards learning. Applying what they have learnt to real-world problems also enhances pupils' overall literacy and practical abilities. Beyond classroom learning, a variety of subject-based activities subtly integrate academic knowledge into pupils' daily lives. Events such as Maths Day, Science Day, and Earth Day seamlessly incorporate learning into the fun of the activities, allowing pupils to naturally acquire, transform, and apply knowledge.

On April 25th, we are delighted to invite Science Teacher Vincent Chang and Chinese Social Studies Teacher Nade Li to Huili Talks livestream to share in detail how we incorporates the curriculum into the pupils' daily lives. You are welcome to scan the code to reserve the livestream.
