The International Children's Day on June 1st is not only a festival for children, but also for schools. For Huili School Nantong, June 1st has a deeper significance, as it has witnessed milestone moments in the school's construction and opening process for three consecutive years:
- On June 1st, 2021, the Capping event of the school construction project.
- On June 1st, 2022, the school engineering project was completed and handed over.
- On this year's June 1st, Huili School Nantong held a special thanksgiving celebration.
This welcomed a group of special guests - the behind-the-scenes partners who have worked hard and made contributions to the school's construction process. These partners have braved the cold and heat, overcome various challenges of the three-year pandemic, and devoted themselves wholeheartedly, which has led to the vibrant Huili School Nantong today.
On this special day of June 1st, Huili Nantong's teachers, pupils, and community members hope to express their sincere gratitude to all the builders who have worked hard for the campus construction in a unique way.

The appreciation ceremony was opened by Joy Qiao , founder and chairman of Wellington College China. In her speech, Joy first extended holiday greetings to all the pupils, then reviewed the construction process of Huili School Nantong, and thanked the cooperating enterprises for their strong support.
“Huili School Nantong settled in the Suxitong Industrial Park, and the construction of the school went through the pandemic period of the past three years. From the start of the school construction to the capping event, and finally the completion of the entire campus project, we encountered countless challenges. Fortunately, various enterprise units involved in school project management, design, and construction worked with our group and school in good faith, overcame all difficulties, and completed the school's construction project on time and with high quality. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the cooperating enterprises. It is your help that has made the dream of Wellington College China come true. Today, we gather together in this beautiful campus, and we feel that all the difficult moments were worth it.”
After the opening speech, the school's teachers and pupils brought a variety of wonderful performances, including dances, instrumental performances, choir performances, and poetry recitations. Pupil representatives also presented pennants to the guests from the cooperating enterprises. The gratitude video presented by the Nursery pupils, and the gratitude letter written neatly by the Grade5 pupils, moved the audience deeply. The children spoke with innocent words and tender voices, expressing their gratitude to the cooperating enterprises for adhering to the high standards of Wellington College China in campus construction, which has led to the high-quality learning environment today. They also expressed their appreciation for the meticulous attention to every detail and the pursuit of excellence, which has created a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and learn, loved by both parents and pupils.
Gratitude for three years of companionship
The construction and development of Huili School Nantong has demonstrated the outstanding achievements of all members of the Wellington College China community and cooperating enterprises working together. Among the many cooperating enterprises, Qidong Construction Group Co., Ltd., a national first-class construction enterprise with special qualifications, and Nantong Tongbo Equipment Installation Group Co., Ltd., a national electromechanical engineering construction general contractor with a first-class qualification and multiple heavyweight awards in the construction industry, shouldered the responsibility of the general contractor for Huili School Nantong and Huili Nursery Nantong respectively. Faced with the tight construction schedule, the two cooperating enterprises provided full support and cooperation to the school, ensuring the normal progress of the project and on-time delivery.
As we all know, the construction standards of the functional venues in Huili School Nantong are comparable to those of national or professional competition venues, including a theatre that meets the national first-level standard for cultural and artistic performances, an eight-lane swimming pool that can host various swimming events, and a football field with a multi-functional sports lawn and professional floodlights, etc. All the classroom and venue constructions are designed to meet teaching needs, fully considering the important impact on ensuring pupil safety, stimulating diverse interests, and further holistically cultivating future talents. In addition, with the support of the cooperating enterprises, the overall campus construction practices the concept of sustainable development and has been awarded a two-star green building project. Whether it's using energy-saving equipment, designing energy recycling systems, or introducing building automation systems, the school's determination to adhere to sustainable development is evident, and it will also subtly sow the seeds of environmental protection in the hearts of the pupils, nurturing young forces to promote green development in the future world. All of these achievements would not have been possible without the help from the enterprises below.
Pureluxe Building Engineering (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.: responsible for the decoration project of the teaching building and dormitory building.
Shanghai Jianwei Decoration Co., Ltd.: responsible for the decoration work of the theater, gymnasium, and administrative building.
Jiangsu Maiguan Construction Co., Ltd.: responsible for the construction of the football field, rugby field, and basketball hall, is also a leading domestic sports technology enterprise.

Fujitsu General Central Air Conditioning (Wuxi) Co., Ltd.: provided high-quality air conditioning equipment for the school, is also a subsidiary of the Fortune Global 500 company Fujitsu Limited.
During the campus construction process, Huili School Nantong received strong assistance from several experienced consultant design companies. AECOM undertook the full-process project management services for the project, coordinating various suppliers and ensuring the progress of the project; Shanghai Jinshi Architectural Design Consulting Co., Ltd. has deep expertise in interior design and has participated in the design of Tianjin, Shanghai, Hangzhou Wellington International School, Huili School Nantong, and many other well-known international schools; Nantong Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. has participated in the design of multiple projects, including Nantong Library, Nantong Citizen Service Center, Nantong Administrative Center, and Dongfang Avenue Expressway; Shanghai Xinhofei Architectural Planning and Design Consulting Co., Ltd., which has won numerous European architectural awards and the 2021 Pyramid Award, provided overall planning and architectural solutions for Huili School Nantong.
Huili School Nantong is the first school built under the guidance of the "Wellington College China Design Manual", embodying the profound experience accumulated over more than a decade of construction and development by Wellington College China, as well as the earnest expectations for the future development of the group's newest member.
