Summer Camp Teachers' Introduction

Summer holidays are just around the corner! Have you thought about how you want to spend your time? Are you looking for a relaxing trip or to develop a new hobby? If you're looking for a unique and enriching experience, consider the Huili School Nantong Summer Camp. With a variety of academic courses, sports, and arts activities, pupils are sure to have a memorable and rewarding summer. Residential Summer Camp 

When:Residential, each day will be from 08:30 – 21:00

Camp 1:Monday, 3rd July to Friday, 14th July (including the weekend) 

Camp 2:Monday 31st July to Friday 11th August (including the weekend)

Age:Grades 1 – 8 (Ages 6 - 14)

In addition to the diversity and professionalism of the curriculum, teachers are also an integral part of a good summer camp. This summer camp is staffed by teachers from the Wellington College China, with a number of education experts from Huili School Nantong, Huili School Shanghai and Wellington College International Shanghai providing high quality guidance to the campers.

Myles Bebbington  

 

 

Myles is a computing teacher from the South-East of England. He started building his own computer at the age of ten and since then, has loved working with technology. He's been working for Wellington College for 3 years now. During his time there, he organized the post-covid First Lego League tournament, and so he is keen to ensure Wellington/Huili pupils are best equipped for the next tournament!

Vincent Chang 

 

 

Vincent graduated with a master’s in Genetics from China Agricultural University and obtained the PGCE from University of Warwick in the UK. Prior to Huili School Nantong, Vincent was a chemistry and biology teacher at RDFZ King’s College School and the chemistry teacher of Zhenhai High School and Nanjing Foreign Language School.

 

Vincent believes that all children are unique and have something special that they can bring to the classroom. It is his goal to create a stimulating learning environment where each child feels valued and can grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

Julee Ann Rhee

 

 

Ms. Julee Ann Rhee, her teaching experience includes two years as an early year’s teacher and seven years as a fine arts tutor. Her studies include a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (B.F.A) from the USA and two teaching diplomas (PGDE). 

 

Ms. Rhee was actively involved in education related charitable works as a stakeholder for schools in Manila and was an International Primary Curriculum (IPC) accreditation leader for co-curricular design and framework. She has received professional training and has extensive experience in the IPC, Cambridge Primary English, and Common Core Curriculums. Currently, she is the English coordinator for the upper primary school at Huili in Shanghai. She enjoys being involved in activities that link the school with the school communities.

Carmen Mah 

 

 

Carmen is originally from Malaysia. She graduated from Middlesex University in London, England, with a major in flute performance and a minor in piano. After graduating, she furthered her studies at the Zoltan Kodaly-Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, one of Hungary's most prestigious music institutions, where she received a master's degree with highest honours. She has over 5 years of experience in teaching music and piano in international schools in Malaysia. She has also conducted and directed school bands and choirs and helped pupils prepare for various musical events. She has also provided piano accompaniment to pupils for other examinations such as the ABRSM piano examinations and flute examinations.

Aysha Ebrahim 

 

 

Ms. Aysha Ebrahim is an experienced teacher with 10 years’ experience. She is currently a 5th grade Form Tutor at Huili School Shanghai. Teaching has always been one of her fundamental cornerstones, and there is nothing that gives her more pleasure than to relay and share knowledge. Besides her passion for education, she has a natural proclivity for the arts, and enjoys drawing Mandalas in her spare time.

Patrice Nydia Trim 

 

 

Ms. Patrice Nydia Trim has been a teacher for the last eleven years. She graduated from the City University of New York – Medgar Evers College campus with an associate degree in liberal arts (A.A) and a bachelor’s degree in English. (B.A). Then she completed her master’s degree in education (M.Ed.) with a concentration in international teaching.

 

She has a passion for reading, writing, and performing and has integrated aspects of all three into her curriculum and classes. Under her tutelage, students can learn about language, literature, and poetry. They are also given opportunities to bring them to life by performing in showcases and art soirees on campus. In the past she has also launched a successful schoolwide literacy program and project amongst students with the aims of fostering a love of reading, exposing them to new cultures, ideas and viewpoints, as well as broadening their vocabulary, and ability to analyze, discuss and present what they have read.

Kathryn Hastings

 

 

Kathryn graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in Politics and History and also holds a teaching qualification from the University of Aberdeen, UK. She has extensive experience working with children of different ages and in a variety of countries. She has worked with people of all cultural backgrounds and ages and has a deep appreciation for multiculturalism. 

 

The teachers accompanying the pupils through the summer are not only the elite Chinese and foreign teachers from the academic teams of the schools, but also professionals from various fields. We hope that their rich teaching experience and diverse cultural backgrounds will help pupils expand their international horizons and enhance their bilingual expression and bicultural thinking skills.
